On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the opening of Vatican II Council (October 11th, 2012) , the International Movement “We are Church” and the European Network “Church on the move” present world-wide reform movements and initiatives for a renewed Catholic Church that are growing rapidly all over the world inspired by the Second Vatican Council.

Por ocasião do 50º aniversário da abertura do Concílio Vaticano II (11 de Outubro de 2012), o Movimento Internacional “Nós Somos Igreja” / We are Church e a Rede Europeia “Igreja pela mudança” / Church On the Move apresentam os movimentos pela reforma e as iniciativas por uma Igreja Católica renovada que, inspirados no Vaticano II e voltados para a renovação da Igreja Católica, expandem-se rapidamente pelo mundo.

Background Information / Quem somos:
The International Movement We Are Church (IMWAC, http://www.we-are-church.org), founded in Rome in 1996, is represented in more than twenty countries on all continents and is networking world-wide with similar-minded reform groups. We Are Church is an international movement within the Roman Catholic Church and aims at renewal on the basis of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965). We Are Church was started in Austria in 1995 with a church referendum, answering the paedophile scandal of the former Cardinal of Vienna/Austria, Hans-Hermann Groer.
O Movimento Internacional We are Church (IMWAC, http://www.we-are-church.org), fundado em Roma em 1996, está presente em mais de vinte países de todos os continentes, e, em escala mundial, está conectado a grupos de reforma de orientação semelhante. “We are Church” é um movimento internacional no interior da Igreja Católica Romana que busca renovação com base no Concílio Vaticano II (1962-1965). We are Church teve origem na Áustria, em 1995, com uma consulta eclesial, em reação aos escândalos de pedofilia do ex-Cardeal de Viena/Áustria, Hans-Hemann Groer.
The European Network Church On The Move (EN/RE, http://www.en-re.eu), founded in 1990, is a network of more than 30 grass root groups which are working for reform of the Roman-Catholic Church. This network has member groups in Austria, Belgium, Czechia, France, Germany, Hungaria, Irland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and is associated with groups in the US.
A Rede Eclesial Européia Igreja pela mudança (EM/RE, http://www.en-re.eu), fundada em 1990, e composta por mais de trinta grupos de base que trabalham pela reforma da Igreja Católica. A Rede tem membros na Áustria, Bélgica, República Tcheca, França, Alemanha, Hungria, Irlanda, Itália, Holanda Portugal, Espanha, Suíça e Reino Unido, e é associada a grupos nos Estados Unidos.
